For more than two decades, James has exercised his genius for strategy, research, analytics, and customer experience design to help brands across verticals including technology, automotive, retail, and education understand and navigate the complexities of the digital and non-digital worlds and achieve success. As Chief Strategy Officer, James shapes customer- and market-driven strategies for SMITH’s clients, using a mix of audience insight, scenario planning, and market and competitive analysis methodologies in the B2B, B2C, and public sectors. James’ insights and expertise have fueled award-winning work for numerous brands, including Microsoft, Honeywell, Subaru, Toyota, Lexus, Calphalon, TopGolf, USC, and the Hawaii Department of Education. James earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his M.B.A. from Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis.
